Family Camp 2025 – A Weekend to Remember at Gilwell Park!
We hope you had a great weekend and are managing a well-earned rest!
Thank you all for being absolutely brilliant this weekend – especially with the rain and the last-minute changes to the camping area at Gilwell Park.
A huge shoutout to the young people. Their crafts were brilliant, and all the team banners looked amazing. From Friday evening crafts to Saturday’s hike, bases in the afternoon, and the hog roast dinner followed by a campfire signing and we can’t forgot all 200 s’mores toasted on the fire, everyone got stuck in.
We were pleased to welcome the Loughton Town Mayor, Cllr David Wixley, who handed out awards to the young people. Not only that, the Mayor joined us for the Gilwell Heritage Trail, learning about the history of Scouting, and even got stuck in with the blind trail, alongside other parents who gave it a go too!
A massive thank you to everyone who helped cook, setup, packed up, and made the weekend run smoothly. Getting everything down and dry by 12:30 on Sunday was no small feat.
If you didn’t make it this year, make sure to keep an eye out for Family Camp 2026 – we hope you’ll agree from the photos that we had a lot of fun!
