At the 41st Epping Forest Scouts, we have over 100 young people, aged 6–18, taking part across the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers sections. Together, we’re building Skills for Life — helping young people grow in confidence, teamwork, resilience and leadership.
We’re fundraising because doing high-quality Scouting in our community takes more than just enthusiasm. To give our members the best opportunities, we need to ensure our resources, facilities and subsidies keep pace with their ambitions.
Specifically, your support will help us fund:
-
⛺ Scouts Camping Kit & Repairs Appeal – Outdoor adventure is at the heart of what we do. But tents wear out, cooking gear gets lost, and equipment needs ongoing repair. We must keep everything safe, reliable and ready for action.
-
🎯 Skills for Life Activities Fund – From problem-solving challenges and first-aid training to community service and leadership tasks, we provide real-world experiences that matter. These costs add up.
-
💚 41st Fair Fund – We believe no young person should miss out because of cost. This fund helps cover activity fees, transport or kit so that Scouting remains affordable for every family in our area.
- 🌍 Scouts Overseas Adventure Fund – International opportunities broaden horizons. We want our young people to experience different cultures, meet Scouts from around the world and bring back fresh perspectives.
Support Us Through Community Events
From Loughton Day at Loughton Cricket Club to Jessel Green Fun Day and Fun & Safety at Roding Valley Recreation Ground, our Young People, volunteer leaders and adult helpers proudly bring a bit of Scouting spirit. We run hands-on Scouting activities like soft axe throwing, soft archery, and s’more toasting, giving families a taste of adventure in a safe and fun way. Our BBQ team also serves up delicious burgers and sausages — supplied by our local butchers at Bosworth’s Family Butchers in Loughton.
Everything we do is powered by our unpaid volunteers, young people and adult helpers — the heart of our group. We simply couldn’t do it without their time, enthusiasm and commitment to giving something back to the community.

Support Us Through Donations or Match Funding
Our Scout Group relies on community support to keep activities affordable, inclusive, and adventurous. Every donation large or small goes directly into providing equipment, learning resources, and opportunities for young people to thrive. If your employer offers match funding, you can double the impact of your contribution at no extra cost to you. It’s one of the simplest ways to boost our fundraising efforts and helps us plan confidently for the future.
Whether it’s a one-off gift, regular support, or securing matched funding through your workplace, your help genuinely strengthens what we can offer our young people.
