Link & Going Up: Moving Between Sections
Young people move up at the end of each term (December, April, July). To support this, we run Taster Sessions two weeks before the end of term, followed by a short Going-Up Ceremony.
We need to know who is moving up at least 4 weeks before the end of term, so we can email parents and invite the young people to their Taster Session. All sections should plan something for Taster Week to help welcome them.
The End-of-Term Going-Up Ceremonies will usually be held at Fairmead Campsite, with all sections together around the campfire. The ceremony itself should only take about 5 minutes, but parents will be invited to join at the end of the evening to watch.

- Taster Sessions
Young people spend a taster night with their next section around two weeks before the end of term, giving them a feel for what’s ahead.
- End-of-Term Ceremonies
At the final session of term we hold a going-up ceremony to celebrate and officially welcome them into their new section.
