End of Year Thank You 2024/25

Date: 22nd Jul 2025 Author: James

As we wrap up an incredible year of Scouting at the 41st, we’d like to say a huge thank you for your ongoing support. Whether you’ve helped behind the scenes, lent a hand one evening, or simply made sure your young person turned up each week – your contribution has helped us continue delivering the adventure and opportunity that define our group!

Looking back over 2024/25

Throughout the year, young people across all sections from our Beavers through to our Explorers have embraced a wide range of challenges, helping them develop Skills for Life. From bushcraft to backwoods cooking, from mental health awareness to mountain biking. As part of our shared mission to deliver a youth shaped and inclusive programme, this year’s highlights included:

  • 52 of nights away across all sections
  • Community impact through events like Remembrance Sunday, Loughton Day, and VE Day commemorations and Jessie Green
  • Skill-building sessions from first aid to photography to water sports
  • Multiple Chief Scout Awards recognising individual achievement and progression

None of this would be possible without our team of unpaid volunteers – Team Leaders, Team Member, Helpers and Trustee Committee – who freely give their time, energy, and enthusiasm to ensure all our young person gets the most out of their Scouting journey (so please do say thank you to them). We also want to thank every adult helper, whether you’ve flipped pancakes, pitched tents or simply said “yes” when we asked for help.

Looking forward to next term

As we break for summer, we hope your young person continues their Scouting adventure over the holidays – whether it’s exploring Epping Forest on foot or by bike, camping under the stars or even just having a fire in the garden. Outdoor learning doesn’t stop when term does.

We’ve also got two fantastic summer events still to come with Cubs Takeover, a summer camp just for our Cubs and Kent Jamboree, where over 7,000 Scouts and Guides from across the UK and overseas will come together – with our Scouts and Explorers proudly taking part.

We’ll be back in September, have a safe and adventurous summer!
